Cox

Bryner

Jill Cox, an attorney with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton in Winston-Salem, has been appointed as the “Partnering with Industry Liaison” for DRI’s employment law committee.

DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. Cox focuses her practice on employment litigation and employment counseling.

Also at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, partner Bill Bryner has been appointed to the N.C. LEAP Steering Committee. N.C. LEAP is a provider of pro bono services to low-wealth entrepreneurs and small business owners. Bryner practices in the area of trademark, unfair competition, advertising, and copyright law.

Jason N. Tuttle has joined Everett Gaskins Hancock L.L.P. in Raleigh and will practice in the areas of personal injury and commercial litigation. Tuttle graduated with a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University, and earned his J.D. from North Carolina Central University.

Sitton

William L. Sitton Jr. has joined South Carolina-based McNair as a shareholder in its Charlotte office. Sitton practices in the area of commercial litigation. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and subsequently earned his J.D. degree from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law.

Kathryn F. Taylor has joined the Research Triangle Park office of law firm K&L Gates L.L.P. as Of Counsel in the firm’s commercial disputes practice. Her practice focuses on contract issues, class actions, reinsurance disputes, securities and commodities trading, and matters relating to Chapter 11 reorganizations.

Richard J. Turkheimer is the new assistant director of development at Wake Forest University School of Law. Turkheimer has more than 25 years of national radio sales experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York in Oneonta, and the University of Colorado in Boulder.

King

Katie King has joined Spilman Thomas & Battle in Winston-Salem as a senior attorney in the litigation department. King received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her law degree from Emory University School of Law. She previously worked as a Peace Corp volunteer in Africa.

Outside the law

Sandy Costa, a lawyer with Smith Anderson in Raleigh, was a presenter at the Toastmaster International convention held in Las Vegas last week.

Perkinson

Sterling Perkinson of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton has been selected to the 27th class of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Raleigh.

Jordan Price associate J. Carr McLamb Jr. was appointed to serve a second two-year term on the Raleigh Board of Adjustment.
