What will Charlotte look like in 25 years?
On October 8, 2014, The Mecklenburg Times will host its first ‘Future Charlotte” breakfast forum. Anticipated to become a yearly event, the forum will include a panel of community leaders and developers who will discuss their vision for how we should build on the present; how we will live and work; what we want to become; and who will take us there. The inaugural event’s focus will be “Building a Vision,” and will include the results of The Mecklenburg Times and American Institute of Architects’ architectural challenge, “Reframing Charlotte,” in which area architects were asked to create and submit plans for a modern “Charlotte-style” house. Results will be based on evaluations by an industry panel and voting by the public.
