Women in eDiscovery chapter forms in Charlotte
By Camille Stell, Special to CPN
The Charlotte chapter of Women in eDiscovery held its inaugural meeting in June.
Women in eDiscovery was founded on May 2, 2007 with the mission of bringing together businesswomen interested in legal technology and to provide opportunities to help themselves and other businesswomen grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking, support and national recognition.
The organization has grown internationally to over 4,000 members with new members from all over the world joining daily. At the present time, there are over 28 chapters with regular meetings.
The Charlotte chapter meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 12 p.m. at various locations. The meetings are sponsored, so there is no cost to attendees. If you are interested in learning about the next meeting, please contact Debbie Lawrence, the Charlotte chapter’s membership director, at debbielawrence@huseby.com.
Also, a group has met to discuss the formation of a Research Triangle area chapter. Due to restraints on the formation of new chapters, it cannot officially be formed until 2011.
However, the Research Triangle group plans to conduct some informational meetings during the next few months to build interest and a potential membership roster. Again, contact Debbie Lawrence if you are interested in receiving information about the chapter.
