Elliott v. Enka-Candler Fire & Rescue Department, Inc. When the plaintiff-fire chief entered into an employment contract for a term of years, he gave up his right as an at-will employee to seek work with other employers at higher wages; therefore, plaintiff provided consideration for the contract.
