Couple hit with $863K verdict for stealing customers (access required)

A Johnston County husband and wife engaged in some high-tech skullduggery to cover their tracks as they tried to steal market share in the decidedly low-tech industry of historical re-enactment tours. A jury ordered the pair to pay over $863,000 in damages for conversion, fraud and trade practice violations after they tried to siphon off clients from Camp Flintlock, a Four Oaks-based company that offers field trips and summer camps depicting what life was like in Colonial America.
