Duke clinic ordered to pay $2M for delayed cancer diagnosis (access required)

An arbitration panel in Durham County Superior Court has awarded more than $2 million to a man who sued the Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic for taking too long to detect cancer near his vocal cords. David W. Crittenton, 46, sued the Duke clinic after one of its radiologists failed to detect cancer near his vocal cord and he was left with permanent pain in his face, jaw and neck.
