CLAREMONT (AP) Catawba County sheriff’s deputies have shot and killed a woman who pointed a gun at the officers.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a house near Claremont on Tuesday afternoon and found a woman outside with a handgun.
Lt. Aaron Turk says the woman pointed the gun at the officers, one of whom fired. The woman died at the scene.
The woman’s name has not been released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
