Gaston County may have new ‘deputy’

GASTONIA (AP) — Gaston County authorities say someone stole a sheriff’s deputy’s uniform, gun, bullet-proof vest, Taser, badges and other equipment in a car break-in.

The Gaston Gazette reported that the deputy’s car was parked at a gym in Lowell on Monday night when the items were stolen from her car.

Lowell Police Chief Mark Buchanan says investigators want to keep the items away from criminals.

Officers are reviewing recordings of video surveillance outside the gym.
