LINCOLNTON (AP) — Authorities say officers searching the home of a man suspected of child pornography also found a homemade bomb.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Donald Cunningham of Lincolnton is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Both are felonies.
FBI agents and Lincoln County deputies served a warrant Tuesday morning to search his home. Investigators say they found pornographic images of children ages 8 to 15. They also found a bomb made from a carbon dioxide cartridge and gun powder. It was detonated in a field behind the house.
Cunningham is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. He was being held in the Lincoln County jail on a $150,000 bond.
