State v. Jones The trial court did not plainly err when it instructed the jury on the offenses of first- and second-degree rape by using the term “victim” -- the same term used by the N.C. Pattern Jury Instructions for these offenses -- to identify the person against whom the charged offenses are alleged to have been committed.
