‘Raleigh Geeks’ ordered to return computers

RALEIGH (AP) — A Wake County judge has ordered a Raleigh-area computer repair company to return all property to consumers within five days or face contempt charges.

Superior Court Judge G. Bryan Collins granted a preliminary injunction against two of the three defendants collectively known as “Raleigh Geeks” requiring all property to be returned to consumers within five days.

If the property is not returned, N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper will ask the court to hold the defendants in contempt.

Cooper recently filed a lawsuit and request for court orders after consumers complained that Raleigh Geeks had misled them about repairs and failed to return repaired computers. According to Cooper’s office, 45 consumers have filed complaints against Raleigh Geeks, which goes by different names and also operated in Apex, Fuquay-Varina and Garner.
