Man pleads guilty in ax killing

HENDERSON (AP) — A Henderson man has pleaded to killing his uncle with an ax more than two years ago.

The Daily Dispatch of Henderson reported that 22-year-old Steven Talley pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter in the 2012 death of 57-year-old Robert Elmo Talley Jr.

Judge Allen Baddour Jr. sentenced Talley to three years of probation. Talley also must serve 100 hours of community service.

Prosecutor Allison Capps said Robert Talley had gone to Steven Talley’s home and said he was entitled to a washing machine at the home. Capps said Steven Talley was not home at the time, but arrived as Robert Talley was attacking Steven Talley’s brother and mother.

Capps said Steven Talley then got an ax and hit his uncle repeatedly.
