WILMINGTON (AP) — A Brevard woman has pleaded guilty to felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in the 2013 death of a Wilmington cyclist.

Local media outlets report 24-year-old Judith Margaret Nemeth was sentenced Monday in New Hanover Superior Court to from 13 months to 25 months in prison after her plea.

Police say 27-year-old Zachary Paul Tyler was on his way home from work on June 13, 2013, when he was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wrightsville Avenue. The vehicle was gone when a passer-by found Tyler minutes later. Tyler was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on debris left at the scene, police found the vehicle the following day, and finding the vehicle helped police identify Nemeth as the driver. She surrendered to police June 15.
