WINSTON-SALEM–A U.S. Congressional Open World Delegation from Moldova is visiting the Wake Forest University School of Law to learn more about the country’s laws and policies regarding anti-discrimination.
The visit is scheduled for Thursday and is part of Adjunct Professor Ellen Gelbin’s arbitration and mediation course.
Members of the delegation are from Chisinau, the country’s capital. A spokesman for the group says the delegation wants to visit the law school to exchange ideas and information about U.S. models of laws and policies for anti-discrimination proceedings for potential use in their own country.
Executive director Vitalie Mester of The Center of Juridical Assistance for Persons with Disabilities said the delegation is also searching for a partnership with an American organization that can cooperate with Moldova in appropriate advocacy of human rights.
