Lawyers on the move

Walker Lambe Rhudy Costley & Gill announced that two new associates joined the firm. Charles  E. Davis III is a 2014 graduate with high honors of the University of North Carolina School of Law. Anna Jordan Cobb is also a 2014 honors graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. Davis and Cobb were administered the oath of office on Oct. 13.

Attorney James J. Waters has joined Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson as an associate. Waters earned his law degree summa cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where he was a Mordecai Scholar and University Scholar.

Steven Scoggan has joined Ellis & Winters’ Greensboro office as an associate. Scoggan focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, unfair trade practices and antitrust law.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced the addition of Molly Stuart to the firm’s Raleigh office. Stuart joins the firm as an associate on the real estate investment and development team in the firm’s corporate, finance and real estate department.

Smith Moore Leatherwood has added three attorneys in the firm’s Greensboro office. Farris Martini and Olivia Fajen have joined the firm’s litigation team.  Frankie T. Jones Jr. practices in both the corporate and real estate arenas.

Schell Bray Aycock Abel & Livingston announced that Jennifer L.J. Koenig and Barbara R. Christy were honored as Herb Falk Society Fellows at the Greensboro Bar Association’s member dinner. Christy and Koenig were recognized for having performed over 75 hours of pro bono service in 2013.

Attorney Jason McGrath, managing partner at McGrath & Spielberger, was recently appointed to the Mecklenburg County Bar Social & Networking Committee.

Moore & Van Allen announced that Charlotte Corporate Member Scott Syfert was appointed to the Central Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees.

Cami Chavis Simmons, a professor at Wake Forest University Law School, has been named the director of the school’s new criminal justice program.

Anna Hedgepeth, the business development and marketing manager for Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, has been elected to the board of directors for the Literacy Council of Wake County.
