FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — An autopsy shows that a New York cyclist killed in Fayetteville in September died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that 32-year-old Mark Boyd II of Islip, New York, was found in a gravel field Sept. 27.
Investigators said Boyd had been seen leaving a location with two men earlier that day.
The autopsy also showed Boyd had a gunshot graze wound to his right knee.
Police have arrested 32-year-old Carlos Engle and 19-year-old Deshavonte Kemp of Fayetteville and charged them with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy and armed robbery.
Police found Boyd’s partially burned clothes in a bathtub at a public housing project where Engle was seen.
