Justice Initiatives, Inc. will host its 10th-annual Evening at the Courthouse from 6-8 p.m. on April 28 at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse in Charlotte.

The event will feature distinguished members of the judiciary, Legislature, county commission, city council and leaders in the legal, business and civic communities and will recognize the role that the rule of law and the efficient administration of justice play in shaping North Carolinians’  quality of life.

Guests will enjoy a sampling of cuisine from some of Charlotte’s finest restaurants and live music from local musician Jeff Brown. The event will also include a silent auction featuring signed memorabilia from local sports teams, restaurant gift certificates and NASCAR Hall of Fame tickets.

Justice Initiatives is a nonprofit organization formed in 2004 by civic leaders, attorneys, business owners and concerned citizens. Its mission is to educate the community about the court system and to advocate, support and advance its needs and interests.

Event chair Nicole Sodoma of Sodoma Law in Charlotte said the event is free and open to the public.

“If you’ve never been to the courthouse this is the best time to go,” Sodoma said. “This is a great way to see what your courthouse has to offer.”

Those interested in attending can register at www.justiceinitiatives.org.
