Tom Pennington, former general counsel of Americans for the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi has joined Moore & Van Allen of Charlotte as a member.

Moore & Van Allen of Charlotte has launched a sports law practice called MVA Sports.

Black Slaughter & Black, a law firm with offices in Greensboro and Charlotte, has announced personnel changes. Adam Marshall is the firm’s new community association attorney. Carole Albright and Theodora Vaporis are new partners.

Five members of the Wake Forest University School of Law faculty have received promotions. They are Jonathan Cardi, to executive associate dean for academic affairs; Kami Chavis, to associate dean for research and public engagement; Simone Rose, to associate dean for innovation and entrepreneurship; Gregory Parks, to associate professor; and Andrew Verstein, to associate professor.
