BridgeTower Media, the parent company of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, has announced the acquisition of South Carolina Business Publications, better known as SC Biz News. SC Biz News is the primary source of business information for South Carolina, publishing titles in Charleston, Columbia and Greenville.
The transaction, which closed on June 30, is BridgeTower’s fourth acquisition over the past 14 months. “The purchase of SC Biz News strengthens our commitment to local business coverage while expanding our database of small and medium-sized business customers,” said Adam Reinebach, president & CEO of BridgeTower in a release. “We’re excited to be in a region poised for continued economic growth, as evidenced by last week’s commitments from Samsung and BMW to add jobs in South Carolina.”
SC Biz News focuses on the three major metro areas of the state: the Lowcountry (Charleston Regional Business Journal), the Midlands (Columbia Regional Business Report) and the Upstate (GSA Business Report). The company also publishes a quarterly magazine covering the entire state, SC Biz. It hosts several events and runs a custom publishing division.
“We look forward to partnering with BridgeTower and are excited about the opportunities to leverage their resources and digital marketing platform to super-serve our audience,” said Grady Johnson, who will continue as president and group publisher of SC Biz News.
