Darrell Fruth has joined Smith Anderson’s national technology transactions practice, which consists of business lawyers with specialized backgrounds in technology law. He joins the firm as counsel, having previously practiced with Brooks Pierce.

Alexander Horn has joined McGuireWoods’ private equity industry team as a partner in Raleigh. Horn represents companies in debt and equity financing agreements and comes to the firm from Smith Anderson.

Chris Lam has been named managing partner of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings’ Charlotte office, where he will continue his business litigation practice. He succeeds Dana Lumsden, who led the office for nearly five years.

Alexandra (Alex) Villarreal O’Rourke has joined Womble Bond Dickinson in Charlotte, where she will lead the firm’s financial regulatory team and co-lead its fintech team. She advises clients on compliance, risk management, and state and federal financial regulation and enforcement. She comes to the firm from McGuireWoods.

Stephanie Poston has joined Young Moore and Henderson in Raleigh as a member of the firm’s estates and trusts team. She will focus her practice on estate litigation and fiduciary dispute resolution. A North Carolina native, Poston practiced law in California for seven years.

Josh Whitlock has joined Parker Poe’s Charlotte office as a partner and will join the firm’s education industry team and employment and benefits group. Whitlock counsels and defends colleges and universities in a broad range of litigation and investigatory matters and comes to the firm from McGuireWoods.
