New N.C Dispute Resolution Commission executive director hired

Tara Kozlowski has been hired to serve as the new executive director of the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.

She takes over for Leslie Ratliff who will retire Aug. 31 after serving in that role for 23 years.

“I am particularly impressed with Tara’s enthusiasm,” Judge William Webb, the chair of the commission said in a news release. “I have no doubt she will be a credit to this Commission and I look forward to working with her during my term as chair.”

Kozlowski is from Indiana where she graduated with a B.S. in chemistry from Indiana University before attending law school at the University of Toledo College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina.

She is a certified family financial settlement mediator and is passionate about alternative dispute resolution. For the past seven years she has worked in private practice, focusing on family law litigation in Wake County.

Ratliff, Kozlowski’s predecessor served as the commission’s executive director since its formation in 1995.
