The North Carolina Court of Appeals has hired Jaye Bingham-Hinch as the new director of its Office of Staff Counsel. Bingham-Hinch succeeds Leslie Davis, who held the position since 1989 and is retiring later this month. Davis has been the only director the office has had in its history.
Bingham-Hinch began her legal career at the Court of Appeals as a law clerk to former Chief Judge John Martin. She has been an appellate attorney since she began practicing in 1998, first at Cranfill, Sumner & Hartzog and then at Tuggle Duggins. During that time, the vast majority of her work focused on matters before the Court of Appeals.
“I am so grateful and excited for this opportunity,” said Bingham-Hinch. “I have big shoes to fill in following Leslie Davis. She has established such a high bar in ensuring that the Office of Staff Counsel operates seamlessly.”
