Police: Man accused of aggressive panhandling shot in fight

Police say a man accused of aggressive panhandling was shot in North Carolina.
Wilmington police tell news outlets in a statement that 33-year-old Eric Gurtler suffered a minor gunshot wound Monday night. Police say 30-year-old Terrin Horton is accused of shooting Gurtler in front of a restaurant downtown.
Horton told officers Gurtler had been harassing him and demanding money. Police say the two men got into a fight, and that Gurtler followed Horton to his car and attacked him. They say Gurtler was shot during the attack and taken to a hospital.
Gurtler was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, aggressive panhandling and simple assault. It is unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
Police say they are investigating, but Horton has not been charged yet.
