 Louisiana attorney censured in N.C.

Attorney: David Capasso

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

Bar membership: Licensed in Louisiana but not a member of the North Carolina bar

Disciplinary action: Censured on May 14

Background: In a motion for Capasso’s pro hace vice admission in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, Capasso certified that he had never been the subject of any formal suspension or disbarment proceedings and that he had never received public discipline by any court or lawyer regulatory organization. However, in 2014 Capasso received an 18-month suspension, deferred two years pending certain conditions, from the Supreme Court of Louisiana. Capasso thus knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a tribunal.

Previous discipline: None
