Lawyers in the News – Nov. 22 

Poyner Spruill has announced the addition of an education law practice group to the firm. The practice group will be comprised of nine attorneys who come to the firm from Schwartz & Shaw in Raleigh. Partners Katie CornettoRachel HitchBrandon McPherson, and Brian Shaw; of counsel Laura Crumpler; and associates Dr. Amy ClayRachel NicholasGrace Sykes, and Rebecca Williams will all work out of the firm’s Raleigh office. 

Samuel W. “Wes” Tripp has joined Young Moore in Raleigh. Tripp joins as an associate and focuses his practice on estate and fiduciary litigation as well as occupational licensing boards and administrative law. 

Andrew J. Bosserman has joined Shumaker as an associate in its corporate, tax and transactions service line. Bosserman is also a Certified Public Accountant who formerly worked at a top 200 public accounting firm and as an IRS agent. 

Andrew Kasper has joined Parry Law in Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the firm, Kasper served as a senior legal advisor to the Office of Governor Roy Cooper and general counsel to the North Carolina Departments of Public Safety and Revenue.
