Does a 10-time felon get a gun?

As Congress prepares to debate proposals for new gun regulations in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, North Carolina’s courts continue to review whether the state’s existing gun laws square with recent state and U.S. Supreme Court decisions. Most recently, a divided Court of Appeals overturned a Caswell County judge’s ruling that the state’s Felony Firearms Act is unconstitutional, but kept alive one man’s claim that it violates his rights.

Police seize 45 guns from Gaston County home

Authorities say a Gaston County man is facing multiple charges after police seized 45 guns, including handguns and assault rifles, from his home in the western part of the county. The Charlotte Observer reports that police also seized rifles and shotguns from the home Thursday. Officers also found about nine pounds of marijuana, Hydrocodone pills and more than $5,000 in cash at the home about 12 miles west of Gastonia.
