CEO/Managing Partner

Carolyn Woodruff is the CEO and managing partner of Woodruff Family Law Group in Greensboro, with more than 30 years of practice in family law. She is a licensed attorney, certified public accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst — a rare combination she brings to complex divorce litigation involving business valuation, tax issues and high-stakes financial disputes.

Woodruff served as chair of the Domestic Relationship Tax Committee of the American Bar Association in the 1990s, leading reforms to the innocent spouse provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and helping draft regulations under IRC 1041 and IRC 152. She was the first woman in North Carolina admitted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Tax Counsel and is a 2026 inductee into the North Carolina Bar Association’s Legal Practice Hall of Fame.

Her cases have drawn national media attention, including a post-verdict interview on The Montel Williams Show and coverage in a major national news magazine involving an international child abduction matter.
