Susan Benoit is the supervising real estate partner at Hutchens Law Firm in Fayetteville, with nearly 22 years of practice concentrating in real estate transactions.

Benoit’s path to law was shaped by years of hands-on experience in the field. Before earning her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law, she worked as a real estate paralegal, a mortgage loan processor and underwriter and a licensed title insurance underwriter — experience she said gave her a thorough understanding of every aspect of real estate transactions before she ever set foot in a courtroom.

She has served on the North Carolina Secretary of State’s eClosing Committee and has spoken statewide on electronic closings. Her professional involvement includes the Mortgage Bankers Association of Fayetteville, Longleaf Pine Realtors, the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville and the Fayetteville Technical Community College Paralegal Advisory Board. She also serves on the planning committee for the Fayetteville Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
