Decedents were riding a motorcycle when they were hit by an SUV that turned left in front of them at a traffic signal. The driver of the SUV was impaired and was operating a vehicle owned by a commercial business. Decedent husband, 55, died at the scene and decedent wife died a short time later.

Decedent husband was survived by two children.

His estate settled its claim for a present value of $5.5 million.
