NCADA is looking for a few good lawyers

The deadline is fast approaching for nominations for leadership and practice group positions with the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.

The association is seeking nominations to fill five seats on its board of directors and leadership positions in eight practice groups, a news release says.

Directors’ positions are for three-year terms. The practice groups are construction, commercial, employment, general liability, government, medical malpractice, product liability, and workers’ compensation

Directors’ duties include:

• Regular attendance and participation at quarterly meetings of the board.
• Membership recruitment and retention.
• Contributing and participating in association programs and services.
• Authoring or securing contributions to The Resource

Qualifications include:

• Be a member in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar and the association.
• Demonstrated commitment and support of the association.

Each nomination must include:

• The member’s name, firm, contact information and a brief biographical sketch.
• A brief statement by the nominee as to availability and commitment to actively serve.
• A brief statement of why the nominee would like to serve as a member of the board or as a practice group leader.
