Attorney: Charles K. Blackmon

Location: Greensboro

Bar membership: Member since 1990

Disciplinary action: Disbarred on Jan. 18

Background: The state bar was investigating allegations that Blackmon failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing a client in a civil matter, and that Blackmon, who was a salaried employee at his law firm, misappropriated and converted to his own use by depositing into his own bank account at least $4,250 in entrusted funds paid by his client for services to be provided by the firm, and to which the firm was entitled. Blackmon surrendered his law license voluntarily, acknowledging that the facts upon which the state bar’s investigation was based are true, and if disciplinary charges were predicated on the misconduct he could not successfully defend against them.

Previous discipline: None listed
