The decedent, 60, was driving on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh when she stopped for a red light at an intersection. The speed limit at the wreck site was 45 mph. Her vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit. The impact pushed the decedent’s vehicle into the stopped vehicle in front of her.
The decedent was hospitalized and died three days later. She was survived by her husband of five years and two adult children. Her surviving dependents were not dependent on her financially.
