Statewide judicial candidates will have the opportunity to make the case for their election when the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys holds a late spring candidates forum in Asheville.

The event will be held from June 14 at the as part of the association’s annual meeting, a news release says. The candidates will be for the and the .

“This will be the 13th biennial forum,” Lynette Pitt, the association’s executive director, said. “We’ve been doing this for a while. We typically have 100% of the candidates attend.”

Eight candidates — two for the Supreme Court and six for the Court of Appeals — are seeking four judicial seats. Information about each candidate will be made available on the candidate forum page of the association’s website, ncada.org.

The release also touts the importance of the forum, saying “The appellate races are statewide races that impact all citizens of North Carolina.”

The association’s annual meeting runs June 13-16 at the inn at 290 Macon Ave.
