Wilhelm appointed chief district judge in Cabarrus Co.

Judge Christy Wilhelm has been appointed the chief district court judge of Judicial District 19A by North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin, according to a news release.

Wilhelm will take over Jan. 1, 2019, when current Chief District Court Judge William Hamby Jr. retires.

Wilhelm has served as district court judge in Cabarrus County since her 2014 appointment.

She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her law degree from the Campbell University law school.
