Over the course of his 30-year career, Edward L. Bleynat Jr. has come to believe that every dispute, no matter how complex, is ultimately about restoring order and moving people toward resolution and peace.

A native of Asheville, Bleynat began his legal career as a clerk to James G. Exum Jr., then chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. He is a founding member of Ferikes Bleynat & Cannon.

“I was drawn to commercial and consumer litigation early in my career because it offered an opportunity to serve both businesses and individuals in trying moments,” he says, adding that the practice area was a natural fit with his background in financial management. Bleynat views his practice as deeply relational.

“We are not just legal technicians, we are trusted advisers who walk alongside our clients, often for years, through both challenges and victories,” he says.
