Winston-Salem teacher accused of sex with student

WINSTON-SALEM (AP) — A high school teacher in Winston-Salem has been charged with having sex with a student.

Twenty-four-year-old Joseph Michael Hester was arrested earlier this week and charged with indecent liberties with a student, statutory sex offense and indecent liberties with a child.

Hester is a biology teacher at Glenn High School.

School administrators had received information that a teacher at the school was involved in a relationship with a student. Police were contacted and Hester was arrested.

Police say some of the offenses occurred at the school.

It was unclear if Hester has a lawyer.
