The plaintiff was killed when a trailer being towed became detached, crossed the centerline, and struck his vehicle head-on. The plaintiff died at the scene but did not die immediately. Medical evidence confirmed that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, severe, traumatic head injuries, and a penetrating injury to the lower abdomen.
