Transylvania County courts and its clerk of court’s office will close early through March 2 due to COVID-19, the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts announced.

The AOC said that the Transylvania courthouse, clerk’s office, and district and superior courts would close at 3 p.m. from Feb. 25 until March 2 “due to an incidence of COVID-19, resulting in facility sanitation and quarantine of staff in accordance with public health guidelines.”

Only those with business at the courthouse and its offices are allowed to enter, and masks or face coverings are required. Filings are encouraged to be mailed and will be treated as timely if received by mail within five days of the due date.

Some court matters can be handled online at www.NCcourts.gov/services.
