Kimberly Coward is a partner at Coward, Hicks & Siler in Cashiers, with nearly 38 years of practice. As a 25-year-old working in her new husband’s firm, she was assigned to partner Ralph Hicks, who managed the Cashiers branch and taught her everything he knew. One favorite matter was in the mid-1990s when her firm worked with the U.S. Forest Service to acquire part of the national forests in Jackson County. Coward became a Board-Certified Specialist in Real Property Law – Residential Transactions in 2006. She is a former Chair of the North Carolina State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and previously chaired the Real Property Specialty Committee.
