Evan M. Musselwhite is willing to go through litigation with his clients if that’s what it takes to solve their problems, but he often gets the best results when he seeks alternative solutions.

“I think clients are often better served in the long run by finding creative ways to resolve disputes that avoid the cost and expense of litigation,” he says.

Musselwhite co-chairs his firm’s construction law practice and is known for being an effective problem-solver.

He comes from a family of lawyers. His grandfather started a firm in Lumberton in 1955, and his father and uncle continued in the practice. Musselwhite, long fascinated by science and math, earned his bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and management from N.C. State University and followed in the footsteps of the attorneys who came before him.

“During my senior year at N.C. State, I focused on my long-term career plans and thought becoming a lawyer would be a unique way to combine both fields that interested me,” he says.
