Lee Robertson Jr. fell into construction law by necessity, but he came to embrace the practice.

“When I began practicing law, we had clients in the construction industry who needed knowledgeable legal counsel,” he says. “We have always been a business litigation firm but wanted to expand our abilities to better serve our construction clients.”

Robertson has a particular affinity for mentoring new attorneys and feels he has made the most impact on cases when he’s helped people sort out problems with their homes.

“I represent a lot of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and it’s especially rewarding to have the opportunity to resolve a problem that affects people in their day-to-day lives,” he says.

Locally, he is president-elect of the 26th Judicial District Bar, a director of the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation and former chair of the Mecklenburg Bar Leadership Institute.

In 2024, he received the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Extraordinary Service Award and was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2022.
