Over the years, Erik Rosenwood made it to the top of the learning curve he encountered when he first embarked on his career as a construction litigation attorney.

“David Hamilton hired me to help build out the design professional defense construction practice at Hamilton Stephens, and my first case involved problems with shims,” he says. “I had to ask David what shims were, but in the end I found I really enjoyed learning about the way a building was put together and how all the parts worked, so I stuck with it.”

Rosenwood recalls a memorable case he arbitrated for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians over a parking deck collapse.

“The case lasted three weeks and included several large pieces of concrete and twisted metal as exhibits,” he says.

The Rosenwood Rose law firm is active in the Construction Section of the N.C. Bar Association, and Rosenwood spent three years on the section council.
