Rather than choosing his 50-year career in law, Richard D. Conner believes his career chose him. He says he simply answered the call to represent the construction industry, and the rest is history.

“Beginning in the late 1970s, I began responding to growing client demand from commercial subcontractors, general contractors, construction managers and project owners,” he says.

Across Conner’s long, distinguished career, he has held leadership positions in many professional organizations and is a fellow of the Construction Management Association of America.

In the coming months, Conner sees the potential for a greater call for legal services in the construction industry due to economic growth and rising litigation costs.

“If growth in the American economy materializes in a positive direction as some anticipate, it seems likely that demand for legal services would increase and litigation costs to rise,” he says. “I think those in my practice area could see clients turning to experienced construction law firms to maintain effective representation with more bang for the legal budget dollar.”
