Dee Parker grew up in Rocky Mount, where he owns The Parker Law Office and focuses on residential and commercial real estate.

After receiving his law degree from Campbell University, Parker moved back home to serve as general counsel at Inco, a construction and industrial maintenance company, before starting his firm in 2005.

“I remember telling people early in my private practice that I did not plan to do real estate work, but as I started closings for people, I realized real estate transactions are very process-oriented,” he says. “Coming from an engineering and operations background, that was a nice fit.”

Parker believes a successful real estate attorney will have a practical understanding of business operations and possess a love of learning.

“We are trained in law school to think like a lawyer, but that doesn’t mean we understand how to run a business,” he says. “Being able to understand both our practice areas and how to best deliver our services is critical to survival.”
