As a partner with Hornthal, Riley, Ellis & Maland, Brock Mitchell represents businesses, lenders, developers and individuals in real estate transactions.
His practice involves helping businesses navigate the bankruptcy process, from initial filing to reorganization. He also advises individuals facing bankruptcy on workouts and alternatives to filing.
Mitchell also helps individuals form business entities. He prepares and negotiates contracts and advises individuals and entities on taxation issues. He also assists individuals with estate planning and asset protection.
Active in the legal profession and his community, Mitchell serves on the N.C. Bar Association’s Real Property Section Council and is a former co-chair of the association’s Joint Forms Committee.
He is a member of the Elizabeth City Rotary Club, Kids First, Food Bank of the Albemarle and Albemarle United Way. He is a past board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabeth City and serves on the First Citizens Bank board.
