As a first-year law student at Campbell University, Matt Waters was introduced to real property law by his favorite educator, Professor Jim McLaughlin.

“After my first year, I worked for Professor McLaughlin, helping him edit ‘Webster’s Real Estate Law in North Carolina,’” Waters says. “My time spent in Professor McLaughlin’s class and working with him during the summer ignited my interest in real property law.”

Today, Waters is a trial lawyer and member at Jordan Price, where he concentrates his practice primarily on community association law. He represents homeowners associations, including foreclosures and covenant enforcement. Waters believes adaptability is the key to maintaining a successful law practice.

“The legal landscape is constantly evolving, and being able to adapt to new regulations, market trends and client needs allows me to provide effective and forward-thinking legal counsel,” he says. “Adaptability not only enhances my problem-solving skills but also ensures that I can navigate the ever-changing complexities of the legal profession.”
